Santiago Bernabeu was not satisfied with what I achieved with the opening of the New Chamartín. In his mind kept coming new ideas to improve the stadium and adapt to the growing mass of social club. In the second phase of construction, which began in 1952, the main objectives were to reach a capacity of 125,000 spectators and the enclosure provide the most modern equipment possible.
The new capacity stadium opened in June 1954. In 1955, the delegates unanimously agreed that partners Bernabeu was called. Subsequent works continued to be made for improvement. In 1957 he became the best-lit stadium in the world. In 1965 the transfer of all offices of the club was completed, which since its creation they had journeyed by many venues in the capital, to its facilities.
